Winter Wonderland

This past weekend my father and I had a daddy-daughter date and took our fancy shmancy cameras out to a local park. It's absolutely one of my favourite things to do, going out with another photographer and seeing how their mind works in comparison to mine. Enjoy a couple of photos from our day!

Adventures with Tie-Dye!

Yesterday my man and I decided to finally put to the use this tie-dye kit that was kicking around my house for months. I originally bought it because I spilt butter chicken on my favourite white T :( Here are the patterns and effect we used! We're both verrrrrrrry happy with the results :)

ps. This Tie-Dye Kit is pretty close to the one I used, and this YouTube Video and its series was even more helpful :)

Camera Family

Just got the newest addition to my family ♥
I saw this beaut of a polaroid camera on eBay a month ago and knew we were destined for each other.
My army of cameras is almost complete!

Winter Photos

Good morning every one! Thought I'd share some neat photos I took with my new camera, the Nikon 3100! I saved up for it forever, and I think these photos are pretty decent for just "fidgeting around"

January Five: Ruche

January wish-list! If I had a money tree to buy 5 things from Ruche :

Words, words, words.

Truth be told, I'm a Professional Writing major. Which isn't difficult to tell from these photos. I got a Chapters/Indigo gift card from aunt (also a writer, not surprisingly) and decided to splurge. I bought this beautiful copy of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, a classic I've never been able to finish in the time allotted by my local library. AND my homework is to read Romeo + Juliet, again. (Stole some copies from my old high school)

Totally b*tchin.

This christmas, my wonderful boyfriend gave me my favourite chef's recipe book, only to have me win an autographed copy from an online contest I'd entered early. Life's funny.

Also, I suggest you check it out! Cookin' For Trouble - Nadia G

Review: Bossypants

Got this lovely book by Liz Lemon, I mean Tina Fey. Though I do have the belief that 30 Rock is not the same calibre of comedy that it used to be, I love this book. Tina is a genius. And as long as you read this book with her voice as the narrator, you'll be stifling giggles in all the most inappropriate places (the bus, class, in the bathroom while your family wonders why you're making dying chicken sounds...)

My new baby.

Snagged this amazingly cute vintage typewriter at the Goodwill over the break. $8. I'm sorry, what? EIGHT DOLLARS. It's going to look amaaaaaaaaazing in my bedroom once I redecorate this spring. Now I just need to find shelves sturdy enough for a 600 pound typewriter...

ModCloth may have had a sale..

...and I may have gone a little overboard in the spontaneous shopping department. I regret nothing.

Manicure Revolution

Shellac Nails: I've recently fallen in love with a new kind of manicure. Shellac is gel-like nail polish that uses a small UV-lamp to dry, seal, and shine your nails in minutes. It's virtually cheap free, and marketed to last you a couple of weeks. This picture is of my nails 2 weeks after getting mine! There is some re-growth, but you would be shocked at how fantastic they look. They do not damage your nails as much as gel nails, but it is a good idea to let your nails breathe in between. Prices run anywhere from $25-$45, check out your local salons to see if they carry this fantastic product!

A Gift from Nanna

This year for Christmas my family chose to participate in Secret Santa, to make the gifts more personal and keep the focus on good quality family time. However, a couple weeks after Christmas I received a package from my Nanna with this absolutely beautiful quilt inside! I'd always wanted one (I was the only grandchild without a hand-made quilt, sigh) and it's more perfect than I could have ever imagined. A little piece of her is with me no matter how far apart me we!

About Me!

Welcome to the first post of my new blog! To sound cliche, I'm to make 2012 the year of big changes and chasing dreams. One of the first items on my New Year's goal list is to create my own blog. I'm a writer at heart, as well as a (self-diagnosed) camera junkie, craft lover, foodie, and fashion fever-haver. My resolution is to share only the most wonderfulist [not a word] of the wonderful things in these categories and bring inspiration from the little things to you :)
