Outfit: Floral + Denim

Howdy folks. Welcome to a post about one of my favourite outfits. It's not really that great of an outfit, but I always remember it as the outfit I wore on my bf and I's second date. We went to Cornerstone Cafe for cinnamon buns & tea, and then saw "Horrible Bosses." Did you just get some crackers to go with that cheese?
On a more important note, both this top and vest were approximately $10 at the Garage Outlet. Me and my mom always hit up the outlets at the end of the summer for the best summer basics. They're on sale x5. It's definitely my favourite cost-efficient shopping tip!

This is still one of my favourite combos that I choose to wear over and over - do you have any outfits like that?

DIY: Simple Spring Toes

Was feeling artsy last night and decided to paint my toes with the smallest amount of resources I had - polish and newspaper! It's not the most flashy design. Just something cute. Step 1 is to paint your toes. Right before they're totally dried (slightly sticky), stick your accessory (newspaper) and secure it with clear polish. Perhaps more than one coat, I had to press my newspaper in a bit. I'm sure someone will notice these bad boys next time I wear flip flops on the bus. And I'm sorry you had to look at my feet for the sake of this DIY.

Spring Nails DYI

Happy Friday evening! I'm afraid this is pretty pathetic Friday night for me. Eating cake. Watching television. Blogging. Invigorating, isn't it! I have exam 2/3 tomorrow afternoon (still debating how I'm getting back to Toronto) and I am doing my favourite studying thing - leaving it up to the universe because I decidedly don't have the attention span to study! Whatever. Do as I say, not as I do, ok. I'm day-dreaming about what my next nail adventures will be, which is of course far from productive or interesting, but Pinterest is keeping me entertained. Check out these cool spring-inspired polishes :)

I'm eating mini eggs and blogging...

It doesn't get much better than that. Well, we all know that's probably not true but let's pretend because it's all I have. Though I am having a lovely Sunday! I had brunch with a girlfriend at McDonalds (have I swooned about their coffee here yet?) And ran some errands. I picked up this amazing green sunflower skirt you see below for only $20 and I'm in love with it already. I'm also excited because I decided to actually put some effort in to my appearance and went to the salon to get some highlights touched up. YAY for light hair for summer! I'm still trying to decorated my room which is a flippin disaster because I have no means of storage for all the odds and ends I've been bringing home from my dorm. It's a tornado! Lastly, I'm antsy about booking a trip for me and Justin to Montreal. I'd really like to go at the end of April, however I am a planner and he is a "fly by the seat of his pants"-er, so I haven't made much progress in finalizing anything. But it would be funner than the funnest of fun! (that's the chocolate talking, I apologize)

Recipe: Spring Crepes

Good morning! I woke up needing a good pick-me-up today, so I decided to use crepes to do so. What, everyone fills their sad holes with carbs, right? If not, try it. It rocks. Anyway, my house is starting to look quite spring-y. So this is a combo house/breakfast post. I know, I'm quite progressive. So I didn't have many ingredients, my crepes aren't really pretty. But I was so insanely proud of myself for making a not-stupid looking flat pancake that I jumped for joy and didn't care about presesntation. Banana and cashew butter, and strawberries and cream cheese, all drizzled with honey. And I used one of my absolute fave bloggers, Emma from Food Coma Blog's recipe! You can find it here :) nom nom nom.

Spring Has Sprung!

I know that everybody can't shut up about this amazing weather we're having..but it's true! 26 degrees in March? Insane! And guess who got her first sunburn of the season? Me! Well, a little pink, but I'm slightly less blindingly pale than I was last week. Pretty awesome! Anyway, these are some pictures from the heat-and-sunshine-peak of this week, for it is now windy, cold and rainy in little old Guelph. That's ok. March is the month of "the lion and the lamb" as my Nonna says - it's allowed to be a little crazy. This week I got my spring-colour nail polish on, my inexcusably 'bad for my feet' but adorable flats, rekindled my addiction with Starbucks iced coffees, and laid out on my campus' hill soaking up the sun. Exams can't come and go fast enough.

What I Love Today

Today is almost Thursday. Which is almost Friday. Which is awesome. Everyone knows that. But it's also  inching closer to Spring and that means I'm inspired by almost everything I see! Here's a few:

1. Tree blossoms beginning to bloom are one of the most beautiful sights and I can't wait (photo found HERE
2. Spring coloured nail polish! Who doesn't love it? We get to play with funky colours and everyone can actually see our toes! (found HERE
3. This floral cut-out dress is adorable, Spring definitely means bringing out anything with flowers. (found HERE
4. Lastly, jean jackets means a lot to me because mine is my go-to jacket the SECOND it gets warm enough. They will never go out of style. I say that because I am using mine from the 7th grade [no I cannot button it up, puberty has hit since then] but it fits almost perfectly! (found HERE)

Outfit Post: Spring Green

Cardigan: JoeFresh, Belt & Dress: Forever21, Tights: JoeFresh, Purse: thrifted, Watch: eBay

I recently splurged on an order from Forever 21, my absolutely favourite place for basics and cute layering pieces because they're super inexpensive and affordable. I picked up this bright green dress that I am determined to wear throughout every season of the year. Think I can do it?

Outfit Post: Lazy Library

Sweater: H&M, Shirt: thrifted, Pants: Forever21, Shoes: Payless
Spring is almost heeeeeeere! I think I jinxed myself by expecting more dreary winter for so long. Or Mother Nature just got sick of me complaining about the damn weather. I may have yelled to the sky a few times. That said, today was sunny and wonderful! Though, I will admit, I got a little over-enthusiastic and really should have considered throwing some mittens and a scarf into the mix. It isn't THAT warm yet. Today is not a very exciting post fashion-wise (I had a lazy day studying at the library) but I was so excited to share this sunshine day with you. Happy almost-Spring!
