Outfit: Classic American-Italian Eating

This is probably a super-unessicary post, and maybe not my best outfit of all time, but I really wanted to have someone document this top forever on the internet. It's the paperclip top. I wore it on my first day moving in to university and one of the 'Frosh Bosses' said (and I quote), "Omg, you're the girl with the paperclip shirt - Cara right?" Ya, that's me. Also, we went to East Side Mario's for dinner last night (delish Italian food) and I stole my mom's lollipop. She's on a kick about how sugar causes wrinkles. But I couldn't really hear her telling me the proven research because my face was so stuffed with gooey melty brownies. Whatever, #YOLO.

^ don't worry, I use that phrase ironically, not to be taken for realzies. Drake is a Canadian treasure, though.

** Also, pardon the weird shade of my legs here. Photography does weird things.

Outfit: A Day in the Heat!

Welcome. In case you forgot, I'm Cara. Breathe into your paper bag and remain calm, because it is me - with straight hair. I walked on the wild side today and put some effort into my appearance for a date night out! I do this so rarely because a) it takes too long, b) it damages my hair c) it rarely looks good and d) if it does look good, I step outside and all my hard work turns into Donna Summer circa 1970. No good. Today, though, I'm quite satisfied!I wore this outfit with new gladiators and enjoyed a chicken wrap and cheesecake for dessert. What? Blogs are supposed to be overly-detailed aren't they? Hope all your weekends were eventful and/or relaxing :)

Outfit: Floral + Denim

Howdy folks. Welcome to a post about one of my favourite outfits. It's not really that great of an outfit, but I always remember it as the outfit I wore on my bf and I's second date. We went to Cornerstone Cafe for cinnamon buns & tea, and then saw "Horrible Bosses." Did you just get some crackers to go with that cheese?
On a more important note, both this top and vest were approximately $10 at the Garage Outlet. Me and my mom always hit up the outlets at the end of the summer for the best summer basics. They're on sale x5. It's definitely my favourite cost-efficient shopping tip!

This is still one of my favourite combos that I choose to wear over and over - do you have any outfits like that?

Outfit: More Flowers?

Greetings. I'm sorry, but I didn't wear this dress today. I cheated. I wore it last weekend. But forgot to show it off! I got it from the store I talk about all the time - Skirt - and it was super cheap because it's missing a button or 2. Now that I'm looking at the pictures, it looks a little scandalous. What with the tattoo peaking through the cut-out and all, but meh. I'm young, right? Another tidbit of info; the second I decided to go outside and take pictures, it began raining and thunder-storming. Canada, eh?

Outfit Post: Business Woman!

Howdy. Happy Sunday! I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open as I type this because I've been up since very early in the AM. I got up for a quickie road trip with the BF this morning, luckily we made a pit stop to Timmy's. On the bright side, we sold his un-used longboard! But that's irrelevant. Ignore me. Hopefully going in to Backpeddling to get my bike fixed today if I can get my butt up off the couch. I went to my little sister's school play last night with my fam and it's absolutely crazy how fast they grow up - I could have sworn she was 6 years old yesterday, now she's turning 13? Oh, and she's super tall all of a sudden. Either way, I was so proud :') Then we celebrated with ice cream. Obviously, how else do you celebrate? I also wanted to send a big thank-you out, because last week I passed 1000 views after only a few months of being up and running :) I don't know how important that is, but I'm pretty excited about it - so thanks x 1000! (Get it?)

What I Wore: Hanging Out

Hello friends. You've caught me amidst what I like to call my natural habitat. Also known as "chilling." It mostly involves something comfy, and very little effort. I do a lot of this "chilling" as I really have nothing else to do. And good gracious, it was hot yesterday. I wore this sweater because it was like, 5 degrees all morning and raining. But that's Ontario - raining than sunshine. And humidity. Hence the hair. I hope you've got fun things planned for your Saturday - I am shockingly STILL unpacking. And organizing. And throwing things out. As overwhelming and a pain in the ass as spring cleaning is, it's so refreshing and I feel instantly lighter as I drag a garbage bag of old clothes off to donate. Mostly because it leaves room for more clothes, teehee :)

What I Wore: Miss. Dress-Up

Hooray! I'm free! No more books. Teachers. Class. Exams. Now what am I going to do with myself? Probably not much. But think about the money I'll save on coffee since I can technically sleep til noon now! I could get a gym membership? YA, OK. Maybe take up a hobby? Only time will tell. I can, however, start practicing my french in anticipation for our trip to Quebec next Sunday. We've been planning this for months, and I can't believe it's actually happening now!

So this skirt is awesome. It was an impulse buy. 60% off. It has pockets, people. That's like kryptonite. You understand.
I didn't try it on (elastic waistbands are pretty much a one-for-all kinda thing), and luckily it fits perfectly. It suffocates my waste into Size 000 proportions. But whatever! This has been enough blabbering. Have a wonderful day, ok? <3

Today's Outfit: More Stripes

Finally! Proof that I am a crazy stripe woman! That's really all that I can say about my fetish at this moment. This dress from Forever 21 is easily my new favourite piece in my spring wardrobe. It's uber-soft, stretchy, comfy, and most of all - it's a maxi dress that goes to my toes. Being 5'9 means most maxis hit halfway between knees and ankles, and it makes me look...weird. It is said that horizontal stripes give the illusion that you're wider, which is usually a big fat fashion NO, but rules were made to be broken. It is true love, me and this dress, and you'll be seeing a lot more of it I'm sure. It's too bad that it was so windy during this shoot that you can't make out the beautiful blossom a-bloomin' on my trees, but enjoy :)

What I Wore: The Sailor Romper

As one of my many talents (I have maybe 2 real talents), thrifting always cheers me up. I didn't expect to have such a good day scrounging through Guelph last weekend but I came up with some amazing pieces. The best ones are easily found at GoodWill (because it's so big), The Salvation Army, and Bibles for Missions - those are my favorites. But this little number was found on the damaged rack in the back of a store called Skirt. You can check out their adorable twitter here! Luckily for me, the damage is a small rip underneath the sash and this baby only cost me $5. It's kinda quirky and original but I think I can make it work, no? :)
